MEMBER PROFILE: CHRISTIAN PEPER
We’re going to start something new here at Front Range Mountain Biking. We thought it was high time to focus on the positive and show off some of our excellent members. Enjoy our first entry into the Member Profiles series.
MEMBER PROFILE: Christian Peper
Christian joined Front Range Mountain Biking in March of 2019, a month before graduating. Come May he’d be moving to the Denver metro from Utah to begin a new career as a Test Engineer at Golden’s Yeti Cycles. Before his time in Utah, Christian was also an Intern Engineer at Tesla in Northern California and ENVE in Northern Utah.
Christian’s passion for biking started many years ago as a 4 year old BMX racer. His father built jumps in their back yard in Alpine, Utah, that eventually became a sanctioned city park! Dad goal? We think so! Christian focused on dirt jumping and bmx for years and eventually transitioned fully into mountain biking around 2017, once again with the nudge of his father who’d fallen in love with his rigid single speed 29er.
Christian and his wife Cara decided to adopt children domestically. Adoption presents some challenges, logistically and financially, but they were able to adopt their son Jonas from birth and are hoping to adopt a younger sibling for him soon, too. Christian sees mountain biking as a way to reach out to the community as they raise awareness and funds towards their upcoming adoption. To offset some of the financial burden Christian has developed a really great online, app based mountain bike coaching program (I’ve tinkered with it, it’s very good) and also offers in-person training.
Christian’s online training is available at Ride Spicy MTB Coaching. If you’d like to throw some support to one of our awesome members, for a good cause, and get some very high quality and understandable mountain bike skills boot, you can’t do much better than fellow FRMTB’er Christian Peper. We’re very glad to have him.
